After testing other "drop in" solutions on the market, we found critical issues with all the offerings we tried, that required modifications to fix, or would cause critical failures. So we came up with our own solution:
We replace the OEM pump unit with a Walbro 450lph pump, this pump will match or exceed the maximum flow of the OE fuel system that utilizes the passenger side feed / filter system, there is no need for a larger pump that will just pull more current with no gain in flow. Our setup is PNP with the stock fuel line, no hacking or modification needed - just plug it in.
We then upgrade the wiring all the way from the pump to the battery, using heavy duty wiring of the proper gauge that is rated to handle the heat these pumps create, along with a heavy duty relay that is rated for over 3 times the current this pump should ever pull, This setup virtually eliminates the problems of melted wiring, relays, and pump hats that plagues other "drop in" pump systems. Our wiring is full plug and play, with the exception of a single power and single ground that get connected at the battery and junction box at the back of the vehicle.
This unit will flow plenty for any all motor application on gasoline or E85. If you are using a power adder, I'd recommend contacting us to see if this will work for your application.
